ภาพยนตร์รักสุดโรแมนติก หยิกหัวใจสาวโสด เรื่องราวของ แซนดี้ (แคทธารีน ซีต้า โจนส์) หญิงสาวที่ตัดสินใจออกมาใช้ชีวิตอิสระเมื่อสามีนอกใจ เธอพาลูกตัวน้อยทั้งสองมุ่งหน้าสู่นิวยอร์คเพื่อตามหาฝัน กับการทำงานเป็นผู้สื่อข่าวกีฬา ซึ่งจากภาระหน้าที่การงาน ทำให้แซนดี้ ไม่มีเวลาในการเลี้ยงดูลูกเหมือนอย่างเคย และนั่นก็เป็นจุดที่ทำให้เธอได้รู้จักกับ อาแรม(จัสติน เบอร์ธ่า) หนุ่มน้อยพนักงานเสิร์ฟในร้านกาแฟ ที่ตั้งอยู่ชั้นล่างของอพาร์ทเม้นท์เธอ และเธอก็ตัดสินใจจ้างเขาเป็นพี่เลี้ยงให้กับลูกทั้งสองคน ทั้งคู่ได้เริ่มทำความรู้จักกัน จนในที่สุดก็เผยความรู้สึกที่ดีต่อกันและกัน
